Welcome to Cultivations!
This site is run by Dr. Margo Kolenda-Mason (that’s me →). I’m an Assistant Professor of English in the School of Language and Literature at the University of Central Arkansas.
I am a literary scholar who teaches classes on medieval and early modern English Literature (basically anything pre-1700). In some of my classes, students have created some really fantastic projects that I am excited to share with you here.
This began as a way to showcase the work that my first-year undergraduate students and English MA students did in Fall 2025, when they created their own editions of a text by an early modern women writer. Even at that time, new projects began to emerge as some of my teacher scholars chose to create syllabus inlcusion pitches for texts of their choosing. It is my aim to keep updating this with new kinds of projects as students think them up, and even include work from outside of the classroom.
Each tab will bring you to a different category, and there will be more context about the genre of writing there.
All of the work here is made by students, people who are learning, and taking intellectual risks, so I ask that you approach it with generosity and kindness.
I am very proud of what they have accomplished, as are they, but it can be very vulnerable to share your work, especially publically, as non-experts.
All students have given their permission to share the work that I have curated here.
