\nMinutes: First meeting
\nReport of the President
\na) What we\u2019ve been up to: Conway Daze, mega-meeting\/ ice-cream social, Muscular Dystrophy Walk, new level II reps, Bear Facts Day, and White Coat Ceremony. These were all successful- a BIG thanks to everyone that was a part of these!
\nb) State Convention is coming up. Some details:
\n-Key note speaker- Miss Colorado from last year.
\n-3 hour NCLEX review for free
\n-Mock interviews, resume help, etc. will be provided
\n-Taking collection for women\u2019s products here! Bring here or to convention.
\n-Delegates- we will need 6 or 7 of these! More information on this later.
\n-Can run for state board! Pre-slated or from the board.
\n-$75 for members $100 non-members. CONVENTION volunteers will be reimbursed by ANSA
\n-We will need volunteers to sell shirts (these will not be reimbursed)
\nReport of the Vice President
\na) Southridge community center is this month on the 24th! Playing BINGO, nail painting, Senior Olympics. Members get two card credits for attendance.
\nc) Take Back the Night is coming up- more on this from Grace
\nd) Amigo Cup will be October 8th. We need volunteers to take BP, etc. Sign up or let Natalie Mikles know if you would like to volunteer.
\ne) Art Show 6p-9p on November 5th. Non-profit organization to promote nursing in the state needs volunteers! Great place to network with nurses- sign up on sign-up sheet, OR contact Natalie Mikles if you are interested.
\nf) If you have any ideas, email us!
\ng) Arkansas Women\u2019s Outreach works with the homeless population. They need support! Collecting pads, underwear, wipes, depends, etc. Please bring these items! Bring items to the collection box by State Convention (October 5th).

\nRestaurant fundraiser- may do one at Chik-fil-A, ect. in the future. More details to come.
\nSweatshirt fundraiser coming up! Comfort colors! Order forms to your level reps. Members $38; $40 non-members. Only taking cash and check!
\n5K- donating fundraisers to MS. Sign up for the fundraising committee to be a part of this! This will be around March. If you know how to organize a 5K, join! <\/p>\n
Recruitment
\nList of expiring memberships provided. If your membership is about to expire, refer to the NSA board on how to renew OR how to sign up for the first time! If you are not sure when your membership expires, contact Laken Harrell.
\nIf you honestly cannot afford membership, but would like to be a member, contact someone on the board and we will work with you.
\nPublic Relations Chair
\nTake back the night event. 10 points of light in October 22nd (on a Thursday). Show support against sexual assault. More info to come on our social media outlets.

Report of the Vice President <\/p>\n
a) State convention- need to tell the professors about state convention so we can maybe miss school… want to have as many people as possible to go <\/p>\n
b) Dystrophy walk was successful <\/p>\n
c) Southridge responded; Saturday 24th we can visit the residents. We can paint their nails, etc. from 1300-1500. Wear UCA T-shirts to this event. <\/p>\n
d) Will update later on Amigo cup (Oct. 8) <\/p>\n
e) First member meeting- will start giving points for attendance <\/p>\n
f) White coat ceremony this Saturday… selling T-shirts. Caitlin will speak in the beginning. Will go from 0900-1130ish. Sell lots of T-shirts there! Volunteers be there at 0830. <\/p>\n
g) Natalie and Caitlin will be at the counselors meeting… <\/p>\n
h) Nurse art event- 1800-1900 on November 5th at the Pleasant Valley country club. Tickets start at $25 for students, $30 for others. Will bring volunteer form to first member meeting. <\/p>\n
i) Need to figure out Christmas party details… <\/p>\n

We have $2600 in the bank; we are getting a check back from the kit company. <\/p>\n
We have $300 in t-shirts. <\/p>\n
Brianna will order food for the first member meeting <\/p>\n

City of Hope guy is still coming to first meeting. Courtney Steele is coming in November. Talking about her sepsis program and the VALOR program. <\/p>\n
Aurora is coming for the October meeting. <\/p>\n
Website is up… working on wrinkles. <\/p>\n
Take Back the Night event- has spoken to several people. Just needs to register. Can do it on campus, in the city. UCA NSA can run it or just sponsor it. People from Reliance will sponsor (at least $200), etc. Maybe live music, donated food. October 22nd is the best date. Acxiom may sponsor… let\u2019s use our connections to get together a concert. Find a couple food trucks. Sponsorship T-shirts. <\/p>\n

\na) October 8th\u2013Soccer event. Need volunteers\/ details to be published. 58 athletes participating.

\nc) Need something in September- Faith Fields 5K for MS? Get sponsors (Conway Regional, nursing home). Find something to do monthly. We could do a t-shirt, why we are doing it, who we are, etc. Cait could get info about doing one from Jonesboro.
\nd) Monetary credit, cards, Vice in charge. No replacements. Level reps will do stamps and cross out when used.<\/p>\n
Report of the Treasurer
\na)We have about $12,000 in the account.
\nb)All kit orders are in, completed.
\nc)Shirts have been purchased, received.
\nd)Bought tables- spent about $700 on chairs and tables combined.
\ne)Kit order- we will make almost $3,000 off of those.

\na)Minutes will be posted on the drop box within 24 hours from now on, not emailed. When the website is configured, they will then be posted there as well.
\nb)Star and Sarah will be working on the NSA board, which will be completed by orientation day.

\nb)People need to show uniforms during L2 orientation at 2:15- ask guys and find a girl.
\nc)NSA Membership applications- do at mega-meeting, bear facts day, ice cream social. Link will be on UCA board- announce that after signing up to inform Laken.
\nd)Mentee-mentor forms- Grace will print and give them to Caitlin.
\nShe will need them before orientation.
\ne)Ice cream social\/ picnic- Brianna will get ice cream\/ toppings\/ drinks. Weneed someone to bring a cooler. We will also need cupcake pans, table for t-shirts, and another table for food\/ beverages. Grace will need to announce that we are selling shirts on FB beforehand. Class reps make announcements. We
\nneed to see if we can have it inside Ida at the front. If that is unavailable, nursing building lobby. Sarah S., Star, and Grace will match and make little
\nname posters. Mentors will be dismissed before mentees. Mentors will hold name signs- people can get ice cream after this. New member sign-up on lap-tops\/iPads. Double check to see if website is iPad compatible. <\/p>\n
Public Relations Chair
\na)Needs list of past speakers
\nb)Valor program speaker- Taylor Willis. Swap numbers. Give them something for coming. Give them details about how long to speak, etc.
\nc)We have a website. UCA blog. We are waiting on an email so we may use it. We need something on the website linking to ordering, facebook, etc.
\nPost minutes online.
\nd)Emailed people in DC about signs of trafficking or abused, etc. We could sponsor an event to help. Fly someone in, etc. for a tedX. Once a year,
\nbring someone in. UCA involvement. Healthcare- related.
\ne)Grace has connections for walks
\nf)Announce everywhere about meetings, events.
\ng)Star posts pictures on FB, Grace will make announcements. Ask for pictures to be sent to Star from events.

\na)Order forms all go through level reps, except at big meetings. Use receipts, on-site. Food, little items don\u2019t need a receipt. Shirts need one.
\nUse square app for as much as possible. Make announcements lecture before the meeting- closest as possible.
